Products to Help You Look Your Best

- BY BETH LUBEREC KI

A SCENT FOR THE SENSITIVE

If you love fragrances but are sometimes sensitive to certain scents, check out the Kai line. It was developed by founder Gaye Straza for just that reason. She looked to her time in the tropics when creating the scent, using gardenia and other exotic white flowers. The end result now makes up a line of products with celeb devotees like Jennifer Aniston, Julia Roberts and Reese Witherspoon. Island Pursuit on Sanibel (239-472-4600, islandpursuit. com) carries most of the Kai line, which includes a perfume oil ($48) and eau de parfum ($76), body wash ($37), hand cream ($19) and body butter ($52). It’s a great signature scent if you live on Southwest Florida’s sunny shores, or a pleasant way to remind yourself of an idyllic island vacation.

PLAY IT SAFE

Sunscreen is a necessity in these parts. But protecting your skin from harmful UV rays doesn’t have to come with unintended consequences. All Good’s new line of sunscreens features zinc oxide as its active ingredient instead of the commonly used oxybenzone, which has been linked to endocrine disruption and coral-reef bleaching. Zinc oxide still provides effective, broad-spectrum protection from UVA and UVB rays, while ingredients like organic calendula (grown on All Good’s farm), green tea extract and rosehip oil repair damaged skin tissue and help reverse sun damage. All Good offers formulations for kids and adults available as an SPF 30 lotion ($15.99) or spray ($21.99). Or reach for All Good’s Sport Sunscreen Butter SPF 50+ Stick ($15.99), made with just a handful of ingredients (zinc oxide, organic coconut and jojoba oil, vitamin E, organic calendula and organic beeswax). Find the sunscreens and other All Good products at Ada’s Natural Market in Fort Myers (239-939-9600, adasmarket.com) and For Goodness Sake in Bonita Springs (239-992-5838, fgsorganicmarkets.com).

FACE THE DAY

Forget finding that perfect Instagram filter. You may not need it after using Biobelle’s #Iwokeuplikethis sheet mask ($4.99). Ingredients like free-radical fighter vitamin C help brighten sun spots and dull patches and restore skin’s natural clarity, giving you a youthful, rosy glow. The mask’s Tencel fiber helps it adhere easily to your facial contours, delivering antioxidants faster and deeper than just applying a cream or serum. Use it before bed to get ready for that early morning selfie (and all the comments asking for your secret). To pick up the mask and other Biobelle products, head to Ulta at the Bell Tower Shops in Fort Myers (239-334-0659, ulta.com) and Coconut Point in Estero (239-992-0361) or Belk at the Shops at Surfside in Cape Coral (239-282-5692, belk.com) and Gulf Coast Town Center in Fort Myers (239-415-1015).
