ArtFest Fort Myers 2019

Let art elevate your every day

-

Here’s how to spend a few hours—or all day or even the entire weekend—at the start of February surrounded by imagination, inspiration and incredible talent: Visit ArtFest Fort Myers, which brings 200 exceptional professional artists to the heart of downtown on Saturday and Sunday, Feb. 2-3, with opening night VIP party on Friday, Feb. 1.

The event also encourages 300 talented local high school students to pursue their artistic dreams by taking part in the

Art Under 20 exhibit and competition. And ArtFest provides opportunities for thousands of children, parents and grandparents to try their hand at creating “masterpieces.”

How do the festival artists get chosen? A jury panel of artists determines which 200 artists—from the more than 900 who apply—will exhibit at ArtFest. These artists are the “best of thebest,” with plenty of wonderful artwork for visitors to enjoy.

It’s great to be able to meet the “stars” of the show—the artists. These creative folks travel from 43 states and many foreign countries to share their work with us. They are sure to make us laugh, learn about ourselves, appreciate our past and wonder about the future—all through their art.

Unique ceramics, jewelry, handbags and clothing, plus remarkable glasswork, paintings and decorative metal designs await attendees at ArtFest Fort Myers. This family-friendly festival connects art and artists with the Southwest Florida community and is an experience that delights the senses.

Commemorative posters and T-shirts, featuring the work of Ellen Negley, are available for purchase at the festival. Joining ArtFest Fort Myers from West Palm Beach, Florida, she created Fort Myers

Flavor to “capture” the downtown riverfront in her distinctive style.

New in 2019, ArtFest Fort Myers is harnessing the power of art to increase awareness and challenge behavior to inspire the recycle, re-use and upcycling movement, and to conserve our natural resources. We Are Overflowing, a sculpture created from re-purposed, discarded and cast-off materials, will spark your imagination and, perhaps, begin a conversation about “rethinking waste.”

Take the entire family to this annual free outdoor festival. View the high school students’ work and prepare to be astonished as they create large street paintings in the Chalk Block. The Publix Art Yard is full of opportunities for children and adults of all ages to create artworks, while enjoying a variety of great performances on the Youth Stage. Visit the four dining galleries, where delicious culinary fare completes the ArtFest experience.

Join the ArtFest Fort Myers VIP Club to take advantage of these perks: reserved weekend parking; admission to opening night VIP party, with food and drinks; unlimited weekend access to the VIP tent, with breakfast treats, lunch, snack bar and beverages. The cost is $125 per person and the funds help support the year-round art education outreach programs of ArtFest Fort Myers.
