Juanita “Jean” Cator, 81, passed away on Saturday, February 13, 2021. Jean was born on September 28, 1939 in Perryton, Texas to Granville and Marie Lilly. Jean grew up in California and Texas having graduated from Morse High School in 1957. She married Pete “Sonny” Cator, Jr. in May of 1957.

The two of them had 5 children and lived in California and Texas finally settling in Texas. Jean worked for Snow grocery in Fritch where she formed a lifelong friendship with the Snows. She eventually moved to Stinnett and attended Frank Phillips College to earn her nursing degree.

She loved nursing and caring for others; however, she eventually left nursing to work for Phillips 66 until her medical disability required to leave. She was a natural caretaker spending time providing support to her aging father, her aunt as well as her sone and friend. She took advantage of every possible opportunity to be near her grand and great-grand children.

Left to cherish her memory are children, grandchildren, and great-grand children: daughter, Mary (Ron) Lankford of Groveton, Texas, and her children: Crystal Antley, husband Aaron, and children Caitlin, Carson, and Caila; Quentin Lankford, wife Katie, and children Peyton and Ryder; Jonathan Lankford; son Johnny Cator of Trinidad, Co.; son Marshal Cator of Saginaw, Tx and children Samantha and Steven; daughter, Karon (Cho) Law and children: Michelle Fang and husband Wes; Michaila Law and Michael Law as well as her sister, Bunny (Wes) Stevens of Washington, brother Don Sanders of McClean.

She is proceeded in death by her mother, Marie Helms, her father, Granville J. Lilly, her son Pete Cator, III, and brother, Sammy Jo Lilly. Family was of utmost importance to her and she always made sure we knew how much she loved us by being present, working hard to provide, and making memories.

She always made her grandchildren feel special, and they will forever be grateful for the impact she had in their lives.
