Weekend Faith with Brother J

Going to the chicken pen Last night after we got home from Church I started for the chicken house but I abruptly stopped. It was dark and I did not have a flashlight. If we do not close up the little chicken house the raccoons, opossums and an occasional coyote will get them. We also have a few gophers and my wife’s dog tries to dig them up and a big holes are left. Anyway I went back and got a flashlight and shut up the chicken house. That reminds me of something in the Bible. Darkness and light are mentioned various times in the Bible. Light is mentioned over 200 hundred times and dark or darkness over 180 times. Sometimes it just means light and dark or day or night. But many times it means something totally different. Good and Evil or God and wickedness. Light refers to God or good and dark or darkness refers to evil or bad. God’s Holy Word, the Bible says light came into the world but men loved darkness instead, (John 3:16-18 but especially 19, 20). But whoever draws near to God repents of their sins, confesses and puts their faith or trust in Jesus Christ and His sacrificial death of the Cross, comes to the light. Some verses worth looking up are, (John 8:12, 9:5, 11:9&10, 12:36, Acts 26:18, 2Corinthians 4:4&6, Ephesians 5:8). And one of my favorites, (1John 1:5&7). See you in Church next Sunday. Brother J
