Weekend Faith with Brother J

The Sunday morning sunrise service

Last Sunday morning I went to a sunrise service, held on a hill above a nearby town where there is a lighted cross. On my way up that steep and rocky and twisting trail I realized several things. First, the way to the cross was not easy for Jesus. He prayed and asked God the Father is there was any other way, there was not, (Matthew 26:39). Sadly many will miss the cross and what Jesus did for them, (Matthew 7:13 &14). Standing before the cross I realized I am so unworthy and did not or do not deserve forgiveness of my sins, (Romans 5:8). On a cross many years ago He suffered and died for me, (1 Peter 3:18). Jesus gave His life for me, (John 10:9-11). He was lied about, spit on, mocked or made fun of, beat severely and yet did nothing to defend Himself, (Acts 8:32). That was the road to the cross for Him and He did it all for me and the whole world, (John 3:16-18). I am still unworthy and all I can do is trust is His word that He loves me. He is merciful and in Christ we can find favor with God. We have to realize we are sinners and ask God to forgive us and put our trust, faith in Jesus Christ, (John 19:30). Let us never forget what He did for us, (John 1:29)! See you in Church next Sunday. Brother J
