Tree and Shrub Clinic set for May 25

-

Dealing with tree and shrub issues and how to manage them so they can recover from the February arctic blast will be the focus of a May 25 program by the Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service office in Wichita County.

The program will be at the Dillard Business Administration Building in Room 101 at Midwestern State University. Registration begins at 5:30 p.m., with the program from 6-8 p.m.

A COVID-19 health protocol will be in place, including a simple screening, with masks and social distancing required.

Registration is requested by May 24 to help determine the expected attendance since space is limited.

Topics include making decisions on saving or replacing plants, management tips on helping plants recover, and recommendations for replacing trees and shrubs. “Dr. David Appel is part of a statewide effort with the Texas A&M Forest Service, horticulture expert and author Neil Sperry and others to develop recommendations after an unprecedented challenge to our landscape,” said David Graf, AgriLife Extension agriculture and natural resources agent in Wichita County.
