Copley eager to serve as new PSPCISD Supt.
When staff and students arrive back at Plemons-Stinnett-Phillips Consolidated School District (PSPCISD) for the first day of school in just a few weeks, they will be welcomed by a new school leader.
Jamie Copley, was appointed as the new PSPCISD Superintendent at the end of last years school year.
Copley is eager and excited to be be joining the school district.
“I’m so excited to join the staff at PSPCISD as your new superintendent. My husband, Andy, and I are really looking forward to being part of this wonderful community and school district. I’m eager to begin work with our school board to build upon the success of our district. We will pursue excellence in all areas and provide the best educational experience for PSPCSID students,” said Copley.
Copley is a South Plains native, calling Olton her hometown. She has a long work history in education, just completing her 35 year. Prior to coming to Stinnett, she was the Follett ISD Superintendent for four years.
Copley’s goals for the district over the next school year are to raise enrollment, increase the school districts presence, and continue on working on the budget. “One of my first goals is to increase enrollment. We have lost a few students. As of late, I want to draw those students back. So we are looking at putting things into place to draw students back.” According to Copley district enrollment is currently around 550 to 560. “It would be nice to get enrollment back to close to 600,” stated Copley.
She also plans to market the school district by telling about the good things the district is doing and work closely with the school board to continue to get the school district in good financial shape.
