Johnny Ted Davis “Monk” 55 of Amarillo, Texas went to his eternal home on July 19, 2022. We will gather in memory of his life at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, July 30, 2022, at St. John Baptist Church, located at 2301 NW 14th Street in Amarillo, officiating Pastor Anthony Harris.

Interment will take place at 3:00 p.m. in Borger at Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery under the guidance of Lighthouse Funeral and Cremation Services, Amarillo, TX.

The family will receive visitors in the Lighthouse Funeral Home Chapel, Friday July 29, from 5:00-8:00 p.m.

Johnny was born April 8, 1967, in El Paso, Texas. He was the only child in the family born outside of Borger, so they knew he was going to be special.

He was a hardworking man and driven to provide for his children and household. He attended Borger High School where he was a star basketball player.

He was a lover of all sports but being that special kid in the family, he was the only Philadelphia Eagles fan amongst a household of Dallas Cowboy fans.

His love of basketball was passed down to his children, nieces, and nephews as well. He loved to go watch them play and was their biggest fan no matter if they won or lost. Johnny really didn’t have friends because he treated his friends like family.

So, to know Johnny was to love Johnny. Johnny was raised in the Church of Christ.

When asked recently if he knew Jesus Christ, he quickly let them know that he accepted Jesus in his life when he was young and he has never lost his faith in God.

Outside of God, his love for his children reigned supreme.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Johnny “Ted” Brown & Erma Mae (Bowie) Brown, grandparents, Ollie & Lee Bowie and Jesse Webb, his brother, Stanley Davis, his nephew, Mathew Davis.

Those left to cherish his memory are his children: Damian Davis, Autumn Davis, Miahamm Fernandez, Amy Fernandez, Alana Davis, and JayDee Davis. His siblings: William Davis (Diane), Rickey Davis, Sylvia Davis, Muriel Tinner (Ronnie), Marva Brown. His grandchildren: Kinzlee, Avery, and Babygirl Davis on her way. He has 8 nephews and nieces, 3 great nephews and a great niece, a cherished aunt and an abundance of cousins and friends.

Janice Lorene Thompson, 71, passed away Saturday, July 23, 2022. Graveside services will be held at 10 am on Friday, July 29, 2022, in Stinnett Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Minton Chatwell Funeral Directors of Borger.

Janice was born September 10, 1950, in Borger to Orville Lamont Berry and Jessie Lorene Myers Berry.

She enjoyed watching television especially when Jeff Gordon was driving his #24 car, the Texas Longhorns, and the Dallas Cowboys. Nothing brought more joy to her life than her family, and being Nana Jan.

She is preceded in death by her parents; and sister, Nora Berry Pollard.

Survivors include her daughter, Leslie Worsley and husband Chris of Amarillo; son, Dillon Thompson; granddaughter, Kirsten Parker and husband Garrett; great grandchildren, Kasen, Laikyn; brothers, Lee Berry and wife Diana of Borger, Lamont Berry of Amarillo; and a host of extended family.
