KNOCKOUT ALI’S GOT ’EM TAKING GOOD ‘LOOK’

- Michael Maloney contributed to today’s Inside Track.

Ali Fedotowsky, the Williamstown homegal who got engaged on “The Bachelorette,” wore Roberto Martinez’s diamond for 18 months and then — as so many do — watched her made-on-TV romance flame out, is too busy now to date!

“I’m on the show nonstop!” said Ali, who hosts “1st Look” on NBC, a travel and entertainment vehicle that airs after “Saturday Night Live.” During the past few weeks, Ali’s been to the Golden Globes, to Chicago for a week of filming, then to New York for another week, she traveled back to L.A. and then headed out to Austin, Texas. No wonder the g ir l can’ t find a date! Ali, as you may know, made her TV bones on season 14 of “The Bachelor,” when she ditched pilot Jake Pavelka to go back to her job at Facebook. It didn’t last long. Ali was subsequently chosen to be “The Bachelorette” for season 6 of that show and ended up choosing Martinez, a former minor league baseball player, over Cape Cod hottie Chris Lambton.

“We were engaged. We lived in San Diego; it was good. We had a very quiet life,” she said. “Then, things didn’t work out so I ended up moving back to San Francisco, which is where I lived before the show. I worked in Silicon Valley; I was very into tech startups. I was done with TV, was going to go back into the Internet world. Then I got a call from NBC asking me if I wanted to host a show where I’d travel around the country and do the best things that the country has to offer and film it. And you’re going to pay me? OK!”

Since then, Ali has had the opportunity to take over “Showtime At The Apollo” in NYC and eaten a 20-course meal in Chicago at Alinea restaurant, one of the famous bastions of molecular gastronomy. The Bachelorette has yet to take her show back to Boston but she is planning a segment here.

“I’d like some Fenway history. Because of ‘ The Bachelorette’ experience I got to throw out the first pitch at Fenway once. I almost died. I would love to do that. I’d love to go to an old school Irish pub,” she said.

As for her almost-fiance, HGTV “Going Yard” host Chris Lambton, Ali said they don’t stay in touch. (We believe Roberto got custody of Chris in the bustup.)

“He’s a great guy. I think the world of him,” she said, adding that she’s happy for newlywed Chris and his new bride, season 10 “The Bachelor” contestant Peyton Wright.

“It was his destiny or his path that he wasn’t supposed to be with me,” she said. “He met the person he is supposed to be with … and that’s awesome.”

As for the current crop of Bachelorettes trying to win the hand of Texas hunk Sean Lowe, Ali has a few words of advice: “Remember that the cameras are there,” she said. “Enjoy the time there, but remember that the cameras are there.”

File Under: Still The Bachelorette.
