Casondra, 15, loves telling jokes, learning

-

Casondra, who also goes by Cassy, is a resilient 15-year-old African-American teen who is legally free for adoption. She loves to tell jokes and make everyone laugh. She needs a family with a great sense of humor that can provide her with safety, stability and unconditional love.

Cassy has set many goals for herself and would like to become an OB-GYN when she gets older. She believes that being adopted may help her fulfill her dreams. Cassy is eager to find a family that enjoys being active. When asked what she would bring to family, Cassy said that she would bring happiness.

Cassy has dynamic interests and enjoys singing, dancing, athletics, and watching wrestling on TV. She describes herself as a happy, silly and proud girl who is fun to be around. While she may be shy when you first meet her, Cassy is outgoing and is not afraid to let you know what is on her mind. She has done a great job making new friends in school. Cassy likes being around younger children and became a certified baby sitter this year. Cassy is an intelligent girl who enjoys school, where her favorite subject is math. She has struggled academically and earned inconsistent grades, which her teachers believe is a reflection of her lack of motivation rather than her abilities.

Cassy needs someone to believe in her and help encourage her to reach her full potential. Although it may take some time for Cassy to let down her guard and let someone new in, she is capable of forming meaningful relationships.

Who can adopt?

Can you provide the guidance, love and stability that a child needs? If you’re at least 18 years old, have a stable source of income and room in your heart, you may be a perfect match to adopt a waiting child. Adoptive parents can be single, married or partnered; experienced or not; renters or homeowners; gay or lesbian singles and couples.

The process to adopt a child from foster care requires training, interviews and home visits to determine if adoption is right for you, and if so, to help connect you with a child or sibling group that will be a good match. The process to make a match that will be “for keeps” can take a year or longer.
