Chambers, Crimson rally for OT win
Siyani Chambers scored 21 points and dished out seven assists, and Harvard overcame a 13-point deficit to force overtime and defeat Dartmouth, 82-77, yesterday at Lavietes Pavilion.
Wesley Saunders finished with 20 points, seven rebounds, six assists and three steals for the Crimson (10-6, 2-0 Ivy League). Jonah Travis had 16 points and Christian Webster added 13.
Harvard trailed 57-44 after Dartmouth’s Malik Gill made two free throws. But the Crimson rallied and forced overtime after Chambers scored on a layup, tying the game at 62 with 5 seconds left.
Gill and John Golden each scored 15 points for Dartmouth (4-12, 0-2).
BU 81, UMBC 75 — Dom Morris scored 19 points to lead six Terriers in double figures as BU (11-10, 5-3 America East) defeated the Retrievers (4-16, 2-5) at Case Gym for their third consecutive victory.
A 3-pointer by Maurice Watson Jr. started a 7-0 run that gave the Terriers a 71-63 lead with 2:04 to go.
D.J. Irving scored 13 points, Papale and Nathan Dieudonne had 11 each, and Watson and Malik Thomas scored 10 each for BU.
Virginia 65, BC 51 — In Charlottesville, Va., Justin Anderson and Akil Mitchell scored 16 points each and the Cavaliers (14-5, 4-2 ACC) took command with a 16-3 run in the second half and beat the Eagles (9-10, 1-5).
The Cavaliers, who rank second nationally in scoring defense (51.1 ppg), allowed five 3-pointers in the first half but just two more afterward in sending the Eagles to their fourth consecutive loss.
Ryan Anderson led BC with 14 points and Joe Rahon added 10.
Bucknell 65, Holy Cross 58 — Joe Willman and Bryson Johnson each scored 16 points to lead the Bison (17-4, 4-1 Patriot) past the Crusaders (10-10, 2-3) in Worcester.
Dave Dudzinski scored 26 points for Holy Cross.
Marquette 81, Providence 71 — In Milwaukee, Vander Blue scored 13 points and played suffocating defense on the Big East’s leading scorer to lead the Golden Eagles

(14-4, 5-1) past the Friars (10-10, 2-6) in a game delayed several times because of a dive-bombing bat.
Bryce Cotton, who came in averaging 21.9 ppg, led Providence with 19 hard-earned points.
Yale 76, Brown 64 — In New Haven, Conn., Justin Sears scored 18 points and grabbed eight rebounds to lead the Bulldogs (7-12, 1-1 Ivy) past the Bears (7-9, 1-1) in overtime.
Fordham 66, URI 63 — Travion Leonard made a go-ahead free throw to lift Fordham (6-14, 2-3 Atlantic 10) past Rhode Island (612, 1-4) in New York. Mike Powell scored 14 points for URI.
UNH 63, Binghamton 45 — In Vestal, N.Y., Ferg Myrick posted 16 points and 10 rebounds as the Wildcats (5-14, 1-6) defeated the Bearcats (3-17, 1-6) to snap their winless streak in America East play.
Vermont 50, Albany 43 — Clancy Rugg posted 14 points and 10 rebounds to help the Catamounts (137, 6-2 America East) best the Great Danes (16-6, 6-3) in Albany, N.Y.
Sacred Heart 82, Monmouth 68 — Shane Gibson’s 33 points led the Pioneers (8-11, 6-2 Northeast) past the Hawks (8-13, 3-5) in Fairfield, Conn.
Stony Brook 79, Maine 69 — Tommy Benton’s triple-double led the Seawolves (15-5, 6-1 America East) over the Black Bears (8-12, 3-4) in Stony Brook, N.Y.
Quinnipiac 58, Fairleigh Dickinson 56 — In Hamden, Conn., Ike Azotam scored 14 points as the Bobcats (8-12, 4-4 Northeast) edged the Knights (7-14, 2-6).
LIU Brooklyn 79, Bryant 78 — Despite 25 points from Dyami Starks, the Bulldogs (13-6, 6-2 Northeast) fell to the Blackbirds (10-10, 5-3) in Smithfield, R.I.
Central Conn. St. 72, St. Francis Brooklyn 70 — In New Britain, Conn., Kyle Vinales had 19 points as the Blue Devils (8-11, 4-4 Northeast) topped the Terriers (8-11, 4-4).
UMass-Lowell 86, Assumption 77 — Akeem Williams’ 24 points led the host River Hawks (12-5, 8-5 Northeast-10) past the No. 16 Greyhounds (13-4, 10-3).
Williams 64, Middlebury 63 — In Williamstown, Daniel Wohl’s layup with 31 seconds left gave the No. 9 Ephs (17-2, 6-0 NESCAC) a win over the No. 3 Panthers (16-1, 5-1).

Bucknell 62, Holy Cross 59 — In Lewisburg, Pa., Alex Smith’s 17 points weren’t enough for the Crusaders (9-11, 1-4 Patriot), who fell to the Bison (13-7, 4-1).
UConn 67, Cincinnati 31 — Stefanie Dolson scored 15 points in limited time, and the No. 3 Huskies (18-1, 5-1 Big East) routed the host Bearcats (8-11, 0-6).
