Tom & Gi dig in for long haul
Two months after purchasing 5 acres of land from Pine Manor College, Tom Brady and Gisele Bundchen have broken ground on their new pigskin palace — but don’t warm up the Welcome Wagon just yet, because this is going to be one looooong construction project!
Word from our spies in the building biz is that the BradyBundch’s 7,500-square-foot manse is probably a good two years off from a move-in date. And that’s if everything goes according to plan.
As of right now, the couple has a permit to build a foundation — their building plans have not yet been approved by the town. And word is, their Chestnut Hill neighbors haven’t exactly rolled out the red carpet.
As you know, Tom and Gi closed on their 5.2 acres in June after nearly a year of back-and-forth with the town on their building plans. The land, on the southeast side of the campus, backs up to ohso-swish Yarmouth Road. Which is where Patriots pooh-bah Bob Kraft lives.
The QB/QT and his supermodel spouse had wanted to put their driveway off Yarmouth Road, we’re told. But the abutters declined to give them the 15-foot right of way they needed in order to make it work. Even after personal, in-person appeals from the adorable couple!
So now their access is off Woodland Road ... which necessitates a whole lotta extra site work.
But Tom and Gi are no strangers to long, complicated building projects. It took them four years to construct their massive Left Coast estate, and the Brookline manor is less than half the size of that one.
Plans call for a main house, a “cottage” for the staff, a yoga studio for Gisele and a garage. They also plan a basement gym, a pool, a motor court, a terrace and a “covered loggia.”
As you may surmise, Brady will be 38 — and possibly nearing the end of his run as our Franchise — when the house is complete. But word on the tony streets of Chestnut Hill is that he and the missus plan to raise their Brady Bunch here, even after he stops running the Patriots offense.
