Charles Francis Ryan, 100, WWII vet, longtime resident of Williamsto­wn

Charles Francis Ryan of Framingham, formerly of Williamsto­wn, a veteran, died Friday. He was 100.

Mr. Ryan was born in Williamsto­wn, where he was a longtime resident. He had resided at in Framingham for the past five years.

He was a graduate of Wil- liamstown High School, Williston Academy and Bentley College.

He served in the Army during World War II as a technician in the European Theater of Operation from 1942 to 1946.

Mr. Ryan worked as a manager of inventory control and accounting at Sprague Electric in North Adams.

He served on the town of Williamsto­wn Finance Committee from 1957 to 1960.

He was a member of St. Patrick’s Parish in Williamsto­wn.

He was an avid New England sports fan and loved living in the Berkshires.

Husband of the late Irene M. (White) and the late Mary Rose (Twomey), Mr. Ryan is survived by a daughter, Charlene Murphy of Natick; two grandchild­ren; three great- grandchild­ren; and a nephew, Roger O. White of Hoosick Falls, N.Y.

A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 9:30 a.m. today at the Holy Family Chapel at St. Patrick’s Manor, Framingham.

Interment will be in East Lawn Cemetery, Williamsto­wn.
