O’Brien, Ragge help Scituate advance

Jake O’Brien had two goals and two assists, Frank Ragge notched a hat trick and No. 5 Scituate (11-10) edged fourth-seeded Bishop Feehan, 9-7, in a Division 2 South boys lacrosse quarterfinal contest yesterday. Dave Theodore had six of his 18 saves in the final quarter for the Sailors.

Sam Cioffi tallied six goals and four assists, while Drew Cioffi scored five goals and added five assists as No. 7 Marblehead (10-9) cruised to a 20-4 victory against No. 10 Northeast Regional in a Div. 2 North first-roundee. . . . Riley Gilberg led the way with three goals and three assists as No. 8 Burlington (9-8) won a 10-9 thriller against No. 9 Gloucester.

Brad Lumb finished with three goals and teammate Mike Sheridan added a pair as No. 8 North Reading (119) beat No. 9 Swampscott, 13-3, in a Div. 3 North firstround matchup. Nick Ponte finished with 13 saves for the Hornets.

Sam Witt scored three goals, while Connor Hammon and Eric Raguin added a pair as No. 5 Acton-Boxboro (11-9) cruised past No. 12 Medford, 15-1, in a Div. 1 North first-round contest.

Girls lacrosse

Kaitlyn Krue finished with four goals, as No. 5 Bishop Feehan (18-1) beat No. 12 Sharon 13-7 in the Division 1 East first-round game. . . . Courtney Quirk scored five goals and added an assist, while Brianna Stokes registered a hat trick as No. 2 Lincoln-Sudbury (14-2) defeated No. 15 Arlington, 13-4. Jill Farabuagh had a goal and three assists, while Makayla Ward had four saves for the Warriors.

Amanda Burns scored 11 goals and an assist, while Katie Napoli added a hat trick as No. 3 Billerica (14-5) advanced to the Div. 1 North quarterfinals with a 21-6 victory over No. 11 Lowell.

Boys volleyball

Xhuljo Zyba had a strong all-around game with 12 digs, 13 kills and a pair of aces as No. 5 Quincy (16-4) defeated fourth-seeded Randolph, 25-15, 25-17, 25-19, to advance to the Div. 1 South semifinals. The Presidents also received strong efforts from Christ Pham (11 digs, six kills), Chris Situ (23 assists, seven digs), Vince Cristiani (five blocks, aces) and Kenny Chan (10 digs).
