2009
JAN. 21: Clinton confirmed as secretary of state. MARCH 18: Clinton starts using private email address. Oct. 9: Federal rule issued about government workers saving emails.
2012
• APRIL 9: 2011 photo of Clinton using BlackBerry sparks questions at State Department over private email.
2013
FEB. 1: Clinton resigns as secretary of state.
MARCH 20: Hacker known as Guccifer releases emails showing Clinton using private email address.
2014
• MAY 8: The House Select Committee on Benghazi is formed to investigate what Clinton knew during the Sept. 11, 2012, attack on the U.S. embassy in Benghazi, Libya.

2015
