Harvard runs over Brown to kick off Ivy

Joe Viviano and Semar Smith ran for two touchdowns apiece as Harvard picked up its first conference win, beating Brown, 32-22, yesterday in Providence.

Viviano had 205 yards passing for the Crimson (2-0, 1-0 Ivy League). Smith ran for 89 yards on 22 carries. The Bears are now 1-1, 0-1.

Syracuse 31, UConn 24 — Amba Etta-Tawo caught 12 passes for a school-record 270 yards and two touchdowns and the Orange (22) held off the Huskies (2-2) in a nonleague game in East Hartford, Conn. Dartmouth 35, Holy Cross 10 — Jack Heneghan passed for 240

yards and one touchdown and the Big Green defense forced four turnovers as Dartmouth (20) drubbed the Crusaders (1-3) in Worcester. New Hampshire 39, Rhode Island 17 — Trevor Knight threw for two touchdowns and rushed for another score and the Wildcats (2-2, 1-0 CAA) pulled away from the Rams (0-4, 0-2) in Kingston, R.I. LIU Post 27, Bentley 24 — Joey Tolgyesi nailed a 34-yard field goal as time expired to lift the Pioneers (4-0, 3-0 NE-10) over the Falcons (2-2, 2-1) in Brookville, N.Y.

Bentley’s Drew Mahoney recorded 13 catches for 225 yards, and a game-tying touchdown with 2:16 left.
