Martin Truex Jr. dominated yesterday at Dover International Speedway in Dover, Del., for his second victory in the first three Chase races.

The retiring Tony Stewart, Chris Buescher and Chip Ganassi teammates Kyle Larson and Jamie McMurray were eliminated from the Chase for the Sprint Cup championship, as the field was sliced from 16 drivers to 12.

Austin Dillon finished eighth to move into the next round.

Kevin Harvick, Kyle Busch, Brad Keselowski, Matt Kenseth, Joey Logano, Chase Elliott, Jimmie Johnson, Denny

Hamlin, Carl Edwards and Kurt Busch joined Truex and Dillon in the next round that opens at Charlotte.

Truex won for the fourth time this season in the No. 78 Chevrolet. Only six cars finished on the lead lap. . . .

Nico Rosberg a 23-point lead in the championship after the German fought back to finish third after falling back to 21st on the start when he was hit by Ferrari’s Sebastian Vettel.
