Bay State bigs Let It Shine at Regis College soiree
Cardinal Sean O’Malley, vintage Red Sox slugger Jim Rice and a bunch of Boston biz bigs raised a glass to Regis College and raised some dough for its scholarship fund at the school's first Let It Shine gala at the State Room last night. State Treasurer Deb Goldberg; Lawrence Mayor Dan Rivera; John Kaneb of HP Hood; Suffolk Construction's John Fish (who cochaired the event with Bank of America big Anne Finucane); former Partners pooh-bah Jack Connors; former Lt. Gov. Tom O’Neill; Herald owner and publisher Pat Purcell; Century Bank's Marshall and Barry Sloane and Linda Sloane Kaye; and more joined Regis prez Antoinette Hays and former college President Dr. Mary Jane England at the fete at the top of 60 State Street. Regis, a private Catholic university in Weston with a satellite campus in Lawrence, has 2,000 undergraduate, graduate and doctoral students in the arts, sciences and health professions.
