Warren fails Mass., puts politics first

-

Every Massachusetts Republican legislative candidate gets the same question — what can you get done at the State House with Democrats overwhelmingly controlling the House and Senate?

It’s only fair that same question be asked of the Massachusetts congressional delegation. With Republicans now controlling Congress, the Senate and the White House, our federal delegation has no chance of getting anything done other than receiving a few crumbs from the table. But even those token crumbs could be in jeopardy due to U.S. Sen. Elizabeth Warren.

Both President Obama and former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton have graciously accepted Tuesday’s election results. Failing to follow in their footsteps, Warren sent out an 1,852-word fundraising email continuing to spew her hatred toward President-elect Donald Trump.

He has not even been sworn into office and she writes the following: “Whether Donald Trump sits in a glass tower or sits in the White House, we will not give an inch on this, not now, not ever.”

This is not the tone of a senator who wants to work in a bipartisan manner. It’s the writings of someone who should have run for chairman of the Democratic National Committee, not the U.S. Senate.

Warren further rants: “But there are many millions of people who did not vote for Donald Trump because of the bigotry and hate that fueled his campaign rallies.”

As someone who attended three Trump rallies, I can report firsthand there was no bigotry or hate fueling those rallies. The crowd routinely cheered “U.S.A.” Unlike Warren, Trump never put down the American dream by saying people didn’t build their own businesses.

Eleven times she used the word “fight” in her email: “As the loyal opposition we will fight harder, we will fight longer and we will fight more passionately.”

Does this sound like a person trying to bring our nation together?

By continuing her hateful rhetoric, Warren is dooming our state. She should resign due to partisan politics being more important to her than representing our state. Warren has failed to put the commonwealth’s best interest ahead of her liberal agenda and political ambitions.

Her leaving the Senate would be no great loss, because she has delivered nothing!

Warren is supposed to be a senator for all of us, not a spoiled college kid having a tantrum over the election results. Let’s hope Curt Schilling decides to run and end this six-year Massachusetts nightmare.
