Bay State Tech: Do something good for yourself
What you learn in the classroom, you’ll put to practical use in the shop. Our instructors are all industry veterans with decades of experience in their specialties.
“Going to Bay State was one of the best things I ever did.”
I can’t tell you how many times we hear that. Or this:
“My friend’s son went to Bay State two or three years ago and now he’s making big bucks.”
If you’re stuck in a dead-end job, with little money and no future, it’s time you went to Bay State School of Technology. We offer students training for careers, not jobs. Careers that are well-paid, secure and satisfying. As an HVACR technician, you can expect a median salary of $45,100, according to the Department of Labor, Bureau of Labor Statistics. The HVACR industry itself predicts that 105,000 new technicians will need to be trained to keep pace with the demand over the next few years. What are the two best things about a career in HVACR? These jobs can never be outsourced overseas and there is no prior experience required. We’ll train you in everything you need to get on the fast track to your new career.
We’re Bay State School of Technology and we’ve been training technicians for over 30 years. We use hands-on training that has proven to be the best way to teach students to be technicians. What you learn in the classroom, you’ll put to practical use in the shop. Our instructors are all industry veterans with decades of experience in their specialties.
In addition to our HVACR course, we also offer comprehensive technician courses in Major Appliance/Basic Electricity, Domestic Refrigeration and Electronics Technician courses as well.
Our Electronics Technician course features instruction in electricity, elementary electronics, digital and analog theory, micro processors, personal computers and networking, wireless communications, renewable energy and more. Learn more about those electronic devices that have become so important in our lives!
In our Major Appliance/ Electricity course, you’ll learn about electricity and how it works. You’ll learn how to read a wiring diagram and use it to diagnose problems in major appliances, refrigeration and HVACR systems and other electro-applications. You will work on real washers, dryers, dishwashers, microwave ovens and other appliances as you learn how to repair them and learn about electricity at the same time.
Bay State’s Domestic Refrigeration course covers refrigeration theory in terms of home refrigerators and air conditioners. You will learn about all the major components of a refrigerator and actually build your own fully functional unit from scratch. In addition we’ll train you for and administer the Freon Certification test, required when handling refrigerant gases.
HVACR will train you on larger refrigeration and cooling units, electronic controls, ice machines, heat pumps and both Massachusetts Refrigeration and Electrical Codes. HVACR will also introduce you to Ductless Split Air Conditioning systems, which do not require ductwork. You’ll also work in our exclusive Carrier Lab where you’ll be introduced to real Carrier equipment and work on the best air conditioning units.
Your Bay State Tech training will teach you how to go from having a job to having a career. We can teach you to have a productive and rewarding life working as a technician in the Major Appliance, HVACR or Digital Electronics field. And there is no prior experience required for any of our programs!
