Walters big for Magnus

A monster effort from Jaqhawn Walters of 34 points and 23 rebounds led Albertus Magnus to a 9382 win against Emmanuel in men’s basketball action last night at Andy Yosinoff Court.

Walters’ rebound total for the Falcons (19-4, 15-2 GNAC) included 15 offensive boards. He shot 14-for28 from the floor and made his lone 3-point attempt.

Emmett Riddick paced the Saints with 15 points and Joe Tamburro had 13.

Lasell 113, Rivier 83 — In Nashua, N.H., Armin Omanovic went for 34 points and the Lasers (16-8, 13-4 GNAC) led by 29 at the half in a rout of the Raiders (2-22, 1-16).

Mount Ida 69, St. Joseph’s 66 — In Newton, the Mustangs (16-8, 12-5 GNAC) came back to silence the Monks (12-12, 9-8), with Errald Jordine going for 18 points.

Suffolk 77, Anna Maria 73 — In Paxton, the Rams (7-17, 6-11 GNAC) knocked off the Amcats (4-20, 4-13) behind Thomas Duffy’s 22 points and 19 more from Michael Hagopian.

Middlebury 91, Plattsburg­h St. 70 — In Plattsburg­h, N.Y., Matt St. Amour’s 30 points, and Jack Daly’s 15 with 13 assists, helped the No. 10 Panthers (21-3) ease by the Cardinals (11-12).

Becker 69, Wheelock 65 — Samuel Durodola scored 28 points and had nine rebounds as the Hawks (16-7, 12-2 NECC) rallied past the Wildcats (10-13, 7-7) at Winsor Court.

Lesley 92, Regis 83 — In Weston, Devon Mayo spiced things up with 25 points, Joey Martin had 17 with five 3’s and the Lynx (14-10, 8-7 NECC) clawed past the Pride (8-16, 5-10).

Newbury 96, Elms 90 — In Brookline, Jeduan Langston had 23 points and the Nighthawks (3-19, 3-11 NECC) overcame Symon Smith’s 36 for the Blazers (4-19, 4-10).

Endicott 79, Salve Regina 44 — In Beverly, 11 points by Nick Thibeault off the bench led a balanced offensive attack as the Gulls (19-5, 14-3 CCC) trounced the Seahawks (8-15, 6-11).

Roger Williams 101, Western N.E. 82 — In Springfiel­d, Austin Coene scored 38 points and grabbed 11 rebounds, and the Hawks (19-5, 13-4 CCC) flew by the Golden Bears (6-18, 4-13).

Gordon 80, Univ. of N.E. 72 — In Wenham, Garrisson Duvivier’s 22 points and 11 rebounds powered the Fighting Scots (14-10, 11-6 CCC) past the Nor’easters (7-17, 5-12). In the AP Top 25: Kentucky 83, Tennessee 58 — In Lexington, Ky., Malik Monk scored 20 points and had eight rebounds, Derek Willis had 16 points and the No. 13 Wildcats (215, 11-2 SEC) made 10 of their 11 3-point attempts in the first half to roll past the Volunteers (14-12, 6-7).

Florida 114, Auburn 95 — In Auburn, Ala., Canyon Barry registered a seasonhigh 30 points and the No. 15 Gators (21-5, 11-2 SEC) rode a big second-half surge past the Tigers (16-10, 5-8) in a high-scoring affair.

Purdue 74, Rutgers 55 — In West Lafayette, Ind., Isaac Haas had 24 points and 11 rebounds, and Caleb Swanigan added 12 and 17, as the No. 16 Boilermake­rs (21-5, 10-3 Big Ten) downed the Scarlet Knights (13-14, 2-12).

Men’s hockey

Merrimack 3, UMass 0 — In Amherst, Collin Delia stopped 22 shots, including 12 in the third period, and the Warriors (12-13-5, 6-7-5 Hockey East) shut out the Minutemen (5-24-2, 2-16-1).

Brett Seney, Jonathan Kovacevic and Alex Carle scored. Seney also picked up an assist.

Plymouth St. 4, Salem St. 0 — In Plymouth, N.H., Evan Morelli made 26 saves to earn the shutout, Ryan Stevens tallied twice and the Panthers (15-5-2, 13-1-1 MASCAC) cruised past the Vikings (11-8-3, 10-3-2).

Worcester St. 3, Assumption 2 — In Worcester, Mike Palmer scored the gamewinnin­g goal at 13:51 of the third period and the Lancers (9-11-3) collared the Greyhounds (9-15-2).

Suffolk 1, Franklin Pierce 0 — In Winchendon, the Rams (7-11-4) blanked the Ravens (9-15-1) on the strength of Kevin Venturoso’s 23 saves and David Lappin’s goal.
