In the Commonwealth Athletic Conference, Menel Lamadzema paced the scoring with 29 points, propelling Mystic Valley (16-4) to a 60-53 victory against Shawsheen.
Ali Vienneau scored 20 points and added nine steals as Essex Tech (1010) qualified for the state tournament with a 48-27 rout of Notre Dame-Tyngsboro in nonleague action . . . Katie Galligan netted 21 points as Pembroke (10-10) topped Bedford, 61-46, to earn a tournament berth. ... Caroline Dover’s 25 points and 10 rebounds led the way for Cardinal Spellman (8-12) in a 60-32 blowout win against Martha’s Vineyard.
Boys basketball
In the George Patton Tournament final, Justin Miranda hit the gamewinning layup with five seconds remaining, giving Winchester (12-8) a 72-71 victory against Revere.
Patrick Bugler filled the stat sheet with 23 points, six rebounds and six assists, leading Marblehead (19-1) to a 63-52 win against Pope John in the Sheridan Tournament.
Paul Choate lodged 20 points as Greater Lowell (16-4) clinched its fourth straight Commonwealth Athletic Conference championship with a 69-55 win against Whittier Tech.
In nonleague play, Spencer Patenaude finished with 22 points to surpass 1,000 career points in a 61-45 victory for ConcordCarlisle (15-5) over Billerica. . . . Deshawn Chase had 26 points and his brother Devon had 21 as Stoneham (8-13) defeated Bishop Fenwick, 65-49. . . .

With a third-period natural hat trick, Will Abbott powered Hopkinton (17-2-1) to a 3-0 shutout of Grafton/ BVT in a nonleague encounter.
