Home at last. Tom Brady’s stolen Super Bowl jerseys arrived back in Foxboro yesterday.

The jerseys, worn by the Patriots quarterback during victories in Super Bowls XLIX and LI, were personally delivered by the FBI to Patriots owner Robert Kraft at Gillette Stadium.

In a statement, Kraft said he looks forward to giving the jerseys to Brady when he returns to Foxboro. He also thanked all the people involved in the investigation.

“We want to thank the FBI, the Mexican authorities and the many different local agencies that were involved in the investigation and ultimate recovery of Tom Brady’s Super Bowl LI jersey. Working along with the Patriots and NFL security, those agencies collectively coordinated an investigation that also led to the recovery of Tom’s missing Super Bowl XLIX jersey. It was great to have both jerseys returned to Gillette Stadium,” Kraft said in the statement.

“I don’t know that any agency could have accomplished this independently, but collectively multiple agencies — both in the U.S. and in Mexico — worked together to achieve the goal of retrieving the stolen property. It is another example of the importance of teamwork and what can be accomplished when everyone works together. We appreciate the effort of everyone involved and look forward to returning these jerseys to Tom when he gets back to New England.”

The mystery surrounding the disappearance of Brady’s Super Bowl LI jersey, taken from his bag in the locker room shortly after the Patriots’ comeback win against the Falcons, caused great intrigue. It wasn’t known until recently the jersey from the win over Seattle in February 2015 was also missing.

On Monday, the FBI announced the jerseys were located in Mexico, allegedly stolen by Martin Mauricio Ortega, a credentialed member of the media.

Shortly after, Brady expressed the desire to “hopefully when I get the jersey back, I can make something very positive come from this experience.”
