Pence: U.S. ‘suffers’ with Obamacare

- By BRIAN DOWLING

President Trump thanked his supporters who participated in rallies across the country for their “amazing support,” telling them yesterday they would all “make America great again.”

The thankful tweet came hours after Trump took to Twitter to repeat the prediction he made minutes after the House of Representatives pulled the GOP-led health care bill, saying, “Obamacare will explode and we will all get together and piece together a great healthcare plan for THE PEOPLE. Do not worry!”

Trump spent most of the day yesterday holding meetings at the Trump National Golf Club in Virginia before returning to the White House.

Meanwhile, Vice President Mike Pence spoke to supporters in West Virginia about the president’s push to pass the GOP plan to repeal and replace Obamacare.

“Every day Obamacare survives is another day America suffers,” Pence said. “That is why the president worked tirelessly over the last several weeks to get Congress to repeal and replace Obamacare. You saw his resolve to work with whoever he needed to work with, to call whoever he needed to call, to get our plan across the finish line this week on Capitol Hill.”

Pence said, in the end, Congress wasn’t prepared to repeal and replace.

“As we all learned yesterday, Congress just wasn’t ready. You saw it,” he said. “With 100 percent of House Democrats, every single one, and a handful of Republicans actually standing in the way of President Trump plan to repeal and replace Obamacare, we are back to the drawing board.”
