NORTH CAROLINA

-

Coach: Roy Williams Player to watch: F Justin Jackson, Jr.

Path to Final Four: Texas Southern, Arkansas, Butler, Kentucky

Skinny: Of the teams left standing, North Carolina is the least surprising. Last year’s runner-up, UNC was the No. 1 seed in the South. Carolina’s experience, and that of Williams, who will be making his ninth appearance on this stage while his counterparts are making their first, gives the Heels a leg up. The team is long and athletic with the likes of Jackson and Kennedy Meeks. UNC is the best rebounding team in the country at 43.5 boards per game.

Keep an eye on: If the Tar Heels have a weakness, it might be point guard Joel Berry’s tenuous situation. He scored 24 points in the win over Butler, but an ankle injury has bothered him for the entire tournament, and it’s something worth monitoring this weekend. Twitter: @Steve_Hewitt
