Man dies in car fire in Mansfield
A man died yesterday after being pulled from a burning vehicle by good Samaritans at an Interstate 95 rest stop in Mansfield, state police said.
The identity of the deceased driver was not released.
State police said in a released statement the incident occurred about 3:45 p.m. at the Mansfield rest area on the northbound side of I-95 before the Interstate 495 interchange.
“A single male occupant had been inside the vehicle and was pulled from the vehicle by good Samaritans,” cops said.
North Attleboro Fire Department firefighters extinguished the blaze. The man was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.
The incident remains under investigation, cops said.
