Still haven’t found what they’re looking for — rings’ owner!
Noelle and David Rudloff were on what you might call a lucky streak last Sunday. Not only did the North Reading couple have tickets to the U2 concert at Gillette Stadium in Foxboro but, once there, they also made a rare find: a platinum and diamond engagement ring and wedding band set that someone apparently lost in the limousine parking lot.
“David spotted it and picked it up,” Noelle Rudloff said. “It obviously isn’t a dime-store ring.”
Whereas some people might have kept the set or sold it for thousands of dollars, the Rudloffs reported their find the next morning to both Foxboro police and Gillette security.
By Tuesday, when they hadn’t heard from anyone, Noelle Rudloff checked the lost-and-found ads on Craigslist, but no one had reported the rings missing. So she posted a photo of them on Facebook, asking her friends to share it far and wide.
By last night, the post had been shared more than 31,000 times — from Massachusetts to Maine to Colorado — but there were still no takers. So Rudloff’s husband turned the rings in to Foxboro police for safekeeping.
It’s possible, she said, that their owner had lost them at a previous event at the stadium — or had no idea at all where she had lost them.
But because they bear an inscription that only the woman and her husband are likely to know, Rudloff is hopeful that the rings eventually will be reunited with their rightful owner.
“Someone’s got to be missing them,” she said. “I picture how I would feel if I lost mine. It’s not just the monetary value. It’s obviously very special to someone.”
