Filmed shortly before his death, “George Michael:

Freedom” (tomorrow at 9 p.m. on Showtime) finds the iconic singer recalling his epic court battle against his record label and the devastating loss of his first love from AIDS. Michael shares private home footage for the documentary and narrates. The program also features comments from Michael’s celebrity friends, including Stevie Wonder, Elton John and Ricky Gervais.

Oprah goes to prison. On “60 Minutes” (Sunday at 7:30 p.m. on CBS), the news magazine’s newest correspondent investigates the isolation unit at Pelican Bay Prison in California. California leads the nation in imposing solitary confinement, but critics say it is torture and leads to mental illness.

On “Treehouse of Horror XXVIII” on “The Simpsons” (Sunday at 8 p.m. on Fox), an ancient demon possesses Maggie; Lisa becomes enthralled with the perfect version of her family from an alternate reality; and Homer cannibalizes him self. Hey, he’s eaten everything else. “Exorcist” direc tor William Friedkin and chef Mario Batali make guest voice appearances.

It’s not your imagination: There’s a time jump of sorts on the new season of “The Walking Dead” (Sunday at 9 p.m. on AMC). All will become clear as war (finally) breaks out between Rick’s and Negan’s forces. Count on Carol — the magnificent Melissa McBride — getting over her funk and getting back into the swing of the zombie apocalypse.
