Turn to Tufts Health Plan for Medicare help

- This report provided by Tufts Health Plan.

Do you have the right plan for retirement?

Retirement is a whole new chapter in your life — with new opportunities and new experiences, including choosing a new health plan. Like many people, you may be moving from your current health plan to Medicare.

You can choose any Medicare plan you want

When choosing a Medicare plan for the first time, it’s important to think about your budget, the doctor you want to see, how much care you need and if you need coverage outside of Massachusetts.

There are four basic choices

Original Medicare: offered by the government to cover some of your medical needs.

Medicare Supplement plan: can be added to Original Medicare to cover what Original Medicare does not cover.

Medicare Advantage plan: covers everything Original Medicare covers and more

Medicare Part D plan: covers prescription drugs only

If you already have a Medicare plan, make sure it’s right for you.

If you are already retired or have a Medicare plan, you can change your plan during the Annual Election Period, which is now through Dec. 7. If your health care needs have changed, or if you are paying too much for prescription or doctor co-pays, this is your opportunity to change your coverage for 2018.
