MOST WONDERFUL TIME OF THE YEAR: If Red Sox tickets are on your holiday wish list, you’re in luck: The Olde Towne Team is hosting its 15th annual Christmas at Fenway event on Dec. 16 at the Gate B area.
The festivities kick off at 8 a.m. and will go strong until 4 p.m., with plenty of time to partake in holiday cheer and purchase tickets for the 2018 season. The Fenway Park fun will feature photo ops with mascots Wally and Tessie, as well as with Santa in his workshop and Red Sox of Christmas past. Be sure to catch Wally and Tessie’s Winter Wonderland, a holiday bouncy house for the wee ones, a yard sale and a trackless train ride throughout the concourse. Registration for the chance to attend the event is open now through Dec. 11 at noon on redsox.com.
FIRESIDE CHAT: The raging wildfires ravaging California have reportedly hit close to home for Rupert Murdoch.A video from an NBC News report yesterday showed flames near the media mogul’s Bel-Air estate. Murdoch’s Moraga Bel Air winery took to Twitter, writing, “We are watching the situation unfold very carefully along with everyone else. Our main concern at the moment is for the safety of our neighbors and first responders.”
Employees at the vineyard outside L.A. have been evacuated, but it’s yet to be confirmed whether the property has been directly damaged by the fires. Murdoch’s $28.8 million estate at 1050 Moraga Ave. encompasses 16 acres — with 13 acres of grapevines, a 7,724-square-foot home, a two-bedroom guesthouse and a 4,400-square-foot office building.
