QUARTERBACK

-

Tom Brady was off-target at the outset, throwing behind and over receivers. He also threw his sixth interception in the past five games, a disastrous pick-six to Jordan Poyer when he misread the coverage and didn't see the safety ready to jump in front of receiver Kenny Britt. Brady made a bad read trying to force a pass to Rob Gronkowski in the end zone on a post in heavy coverage. The ball should have been thrown away. He made another bad throw behind an open Gronk on a seam route. Receiver Brandin Cooks had a step on cornerback Tre'Davious White, but Brady overthrew him on a potential touchdown. But after the pick-six, he led six straight scoring drives, four for touchdowns. The final TD was totally done with the run game, but Brady was a key piece of all the others. In the second quarter, a good play-action fake caused Poyer to rush the line, allowing Cooks to run by him on what became a 44-yard interference penalty. Brady also made a nice read in the third when he saw linebacker Preston Brown drop too late, leaving Gronkowski open up the seam for 18 yards. Brady showed his awareness when he got the offense ready quickly and caught the Bills with a remarkable 15 players on the field on a third-and-1. As great as Gronk's TD catch was, the pass had to be thrown with deft touch. Gronk's tremendous ability made the one-handed grab possible, but the ball had to be in the right spot to give him a chance. Brady wasn't great, but he was way better than Tyrod

Taylor.
