A Marshfield man faces a dangerousness hearing on Monday after his father warned police his son planned to “hunt” the officers who arrested him last week during a traffic stop, authorities said.

Michael W. Rembisz, 35, pleaded not guilty yesterday in Plymouth District Court to three counts each of threatening to commit a crime and possession of ammunition; two counts each of intimidation of a witness and possession of a firearm; and one count of domestic assault and battery.

Rembisz was held without bail after Judge Katie Rayburn heard testimony from court-appointed psychologist Carla Lourenco and concluded he was competent to stand trial.

The defendant’s father, Martin Rembisz, went to Marshfield police on Wednesday and told them he was frightened by his son, whom he described as bipolar or schizophrenic, according to a police report.

The defendant told his father he planned to “hunt” and kill officers William Burger and Thomas Fitzgerald, who arrested him last Friday on charges of driving with a revoked license, disorderly conduct, disturbing the peace and resisting arrest, the report states.

He also told his father that if he was stopped by other officers, he would shoot at them as well so they would kill him, police said.

After his son told him he had gone out “travelling” recently with a rifle under a blanket, Martin Rembisz showed officers a photo his wife had taken of the buttstocks of two rifles she had found in their son’s room, the police report states.

The photo also shows a container of Winchester Magnum Black Powder, which can be bought without a firearms license, the report states.

Martin Rembisz told officers his son had tried to push him down a flight of stairs and threatened to put a bullet into his head, police said.

Officers requested a SWAT team and covertly set up a perimeter around the family’s Surrey Road home.

While they watched the house, Michael Rembisz came out and was arrested, the police report states.

Inside the Volkswagen Passat parked in the driveway, officers found a loaded handgun, a loaded rifle and a loaded magazine, according to the report. In Rembisz’s room, police said, they found two black powder rifles, another magazine and a box of ammunition.
