CELTICS STAR’S GOT GAME

Hayward to face off with fans at GameStop

-

Gordon Hayward wants to face off against fans this weekend. And no, we don’t mean on the basketball court.

The Celtics player, who’s been nursing a broken ankle since the start of the season, will be attending a HyperX fan appreciation event at GameStop on Saturday. Members of the public are invited to stop by the Winter Street store to show off their own gaming skills and hang out with Hayward.

Specifically, the NBA star will be playing Overwatch and FIFA on the Downtown Crossing location’s Xbox consoles. If you want a chance to compete against him, be sure to show up extra early because he’ll only be sitting down from 3 p.m. to 4 p.m.

Hayward will be sticking around the store to schmooze with patrons after he’s wrapped up his turn with the controller. He’ll be holding a meet-and-greet from 4 p.m. to 5 p.m., during which time he’ll be posing for pictures and autographing gear for folks.

Even if you aren’t personally interacting with the pro baller, you could be in for a treat. The event will feature raffles at the end of each hour of his visit, and people can win an array of HyperX prizes, including a limited edition bundle box — that’s a HyperX headset, keyboard, mouse, mouse pad and exclusive snapback hat — valued at over $300.

As a disclaimer for people who are game to take on Hayward: This event isn’t ticketed, and with capacity being limited, that means attendance is happening on a first come, first served basis.
