Boston College’s star backcourt seems to be ready to take its talents to the next level.

Eagles guards Jerome Robinson and Ky Bowman have declared for the 2018 NBA draft, the school announced yesterday. Neither player will sign an agent in order to preserve their college eligibility.

Robinson had an outstanding junior season in which he finished as the leading scorer in the Atlantic Coast Conference. The 6-foot-6 guard averaged 24.3 points per game in conference play, leading BC to an NIT bid and its first winning season since 2010-11.

“After consulting with my family and coaches, I have decided to declare for the 2018 NBA draft,” Robinson said in a statement. “I will not hire an agent, as to maintain my collegiate eligibility. I am thankful for my experience at BC and this opportunity, and I look forward for what is to come.”

Bowman followed up his impressive freshman season by earning an All-ACC honorable mention nod in 2017-18. The sophomore point guard averaged 17.6 points, 6.8 rebounds and 4.7 assists per game.

“After some heart-toheart consultation with my family and coaches, I have decided to declare for the 2018 NBA draft,” Bowman said in a statement. “I am excited to see what the possibilities are for the next stage of my career but remain committed to Boston College, therefore I will not hire an agent as to maintain my NCAA eligibility.”

BC coach Jim Christian often lauded Robinson and Bowman as the best backcourt in the country, and the duo is the biggest reason why the Eagles are on an upward trajectory and have their sights set on making the NCAA tournament next season. BC hasn’t played in the big dance since 2009.

It’s unclear if or where the two will be drafted. Rules allow college players who have not yet exhausted their eligibility to attend NBA pre-draft camps and the draft combine in order to receive feedback regarding their potential draft positions. Robinson and Bowman will have until May 30, which is 10 days after the conclusion of the combine, to remove their names from the draft list and return to school without jeopardizing their eligibility.
