BOOK IT: Go to Boston Public Library, 700 Boylston St., today from 10 a.m.4 p.m. for the big book sale. Snag hardcovers and paperbacks from all genres for $2 or less, and fish through a big selection of vintage records from the 1930s-'70s (some 78 rpm!), available for $1. There are premium books, ephemera and classical CDs. The sale is sponsored by the City-Wide Friends of the Boston Public Library, and funds benefit the BPL and its 24 branches. www.citywidefriendsbpl.org.
WIZARDING DAY: There are no muggles today at the Franklin Park Zoo (1 Franklin Park Road). Dress in your wizarding finery for lessons with the Tufts University Quidditch team, the Tufflepuffs; an herbology class; meeting zookeepers during animal encounters; and much more.
