The ‘Me’ in #MeToo is not you, Bill

Clinton tries to play victim

Bill Clinton’s book tour hit a bump in the road when he claimed he was the real victim in the Monica Lewinsky scandal. Apparently the former president believes his legal bills were more painful than the decades of scrutiny the former intern has had to endure.

When asked during an NBC interview if he owed Lewinsky an apology, he said, “No, I do not — I have never talked to her. But I did say publicly on more than one occasion that I was sorry.

“I apologized to everybody in the world,” Clinton said, implying he has had enough.

“A lot of the facts have been omitted to make the story work,” he stated, “I think partly because they’re frustrated that they got all these serious allegations against the current occupant of the Oval Office and his voters don’t seem to care.”

You can’t blame President Trump for an NBC reporter doing his job and asking relevant questions given the #MeToo movement. This is a typical Clinton deflecting technique that he and his wife have used on many occasions to ignore their own bad behavior.

According to Clinton, this is old news and everyone should just move on: “This was litigated 20 years ago. Two-thirds of the American people sided with me.”

Not only is Clinton not sympathetic to Lewinsky, he claims the real victim is he because of the financial toll the incident took on him in legal bills fighting his impeachment. “Nobody believes that I got out of that for free,” he said. “I left the White House $16 million in debt.”

He has more than made up for his losses since leaving the White House, making millions on the speaking circuit.

A few months ago, Lewinsky penned an essay for Vanity Fair magazine in which she talked about the affair. “What transpired between Bill Clinton and myself was not sexual assault, although we now recognize that it constituted a gross abuse of power,” she wrote.

During his latest money grab with this political fiction book he is hawking with James Patterson, he was a fool to think these questions were not going to come up.

Sorry, Mr. President, but if you want to make more money and promote your latest project, prepare to answer questions regarding your record at the White House. You can co-write a fictional tale, but you can’t rewrite your history.
