COMIC’S COOL CONFECTION

-

Jenny Slate is back in the Boston area and she had to hit up a local favorite for a frozen treat.

“Would never leave my hometown without a trip to the Dairy Freeze of course,” the Miltonraised actress wrote on Instagram yesterday.

The caption accompanied a photo of the “Saturday Night Live” alum sampling her ice cream order: a vanilla soft serve with rainbow jimmies in a cone. Slate also teased her trip to the bright blue Quincy establishment with a video that she took as she pulled into its parking lot.

Saturday, Slate alerted her fans that she was in town by sharing a picture from her old bed at her parents’ house.

“One adult in one childhood bedroom with many many flowers on everything bc that is what my 10 year old self requested in order to even consider being contained inside a room and made to go to bed,” she wrote. “STILL A GOOD DEAL.”

Other highlights from the comedian’s weekend home included: a “nature art” project that she completed with her nephew using sticks and stones; a trip with her parents to The Mount, the late Edith Wharton’s Lenox residence; and sitting on a porch during that massive thunderstorm that gave us all relief from the heat Friday.

Right before her homecoming, Slate was wrapping filming for “The Sunlit Night.” The movie brought her to Scandinavia — namely Norway — for more

than a month.
