MAKING HIS MARK AROUND HUB

-

Mark Wahlberg has been waltzing around town — and, thanks to his social media, we know that his Boston stops haven’t been the usual suspects.

The “Mile 22” actor spent this past weekend at neighborhood spots, starting with Marylou’s Coffee in Quincy. Clad in a slick, European-cut suit, Wahlberg wasn’t really ready for coffee duty, and yet he hopped behind the shop’s iconic hot pink counter and at least pretended to take drink orders.

As luck would have it, the Dorchester native didn’t have to work a full faux shift, so as soon as he was done pouring caffeinated concoctions, he and one of his pals moved onto more fun — namely, gambling. Wahlberg snagged a scratch ticket, with his accomplice calling dibs on half of the potential winnings as he put coin to ticket in the convenience store portion of the coffee shop.

“I think we got a million,” Wahlberg joked as he finished with the scratcher, standing right in front of a life-size cardboard cutout of himself promoting the fitness water brand he started with Sean Combs, Aqua Hydrate.

Wahlberg also told the camera his itinerary — which included going slightly south to visit his Atlantic City investment, the newly opened Ocean Resort Casino — but his exact plans were drowned out by one local lady who was loudly ordering her morning java.

To fill in some of the blanks left in his schedule, we can also say that his time in town consisted of green screen interviews for the family’s A&E reality show, “Wahlburgers.” And after filming the commentary, which Wahlberg appeared to do in one of the Hub’s hotel conference rooms, he and his entourage took a stroll across the Fort Point Channel.

While settled in Seaport, the whole gang — including Wahlberg’s personal chef, Lawrence Duran — enjoyed a meal on the patio of Strega Waterfront. Mark said that the ribeye, halibut and linguine with clams were among the dishes that their table ordered for the occasion.
