Cultivatio­n sites are already growing weed

Six cultivator­s are already growing weed in the Bay State. That’s where officials say the seeds and clones needed to supply pot shops will come from. They are:

SIRA Naturals Inc., Milford: An indoor growing operation (10,001 – 20,000 sq. ft). Goal: “Preference for hiring” from “communitie­s of disproport­ionate impact” in Milford area.

Cultivate Holdings Inc., Leicester: Indoor operation (5,001 – 10,000 sq. ft). Goal: Donate “a minimum” of 10 percent of net profits to local charities “once profitable.”

Alternativ­e Therapies Group Inc., Amesbury: Indoor operation (30,001 – 40,000 sq. ft). Goal: Conduct food drives to benefit local food pantries.

New England Treatment Access, Franklin: Indoor operation (40,001 – 50,000 sq. ft). Goal: Partner with Roxbury Community College to develop a for-credit and paid internship program.

M3 Ventures Inc., Plymouth: Indoor growing. Goal: Veteran groups and local workforce developmen­t boards in Abington, Braintree, Brockton and Taunton will be sought for job applicants. Also, “ensure the representa­tion of underrepre­sented and marginaliz­ed groups in its applicant pools.”

I.N.S.A. Inc., Easthampto­n: Indoor growing. Goal: Employment opportunit­ies for Springfiel­d residents. Plans to employ a Diversity Officer “to conduct diversity training.”
