FOXBORO — Big­gest reg­u­lar sea­son game in years?

That’s a tough call.

The Pa­tri­ots show­down in Pitts­burgh last sea­son, an epic 27-24 vic­tory, al­tered the land­scape of the AFC. The Pats se­cured home-field ad­van­tage as a re­sult, paving the way to an­other Su­per Bowl berth.

There was the clas­sic “On to Cincin­nati” game in 2014, as well as a Week 9 matchup with Pey­ton Man­ning and the Bron­cos later in the year. The Pats rolled in that game and con­tin­ued their surge to the No. 1 seed (and, even­tu­ally, a Su­per Bowl).

When the Chiefs visit tonight, there’s plenty at stake. The Pats al­ready lost the head-to-head tiebreaker against the Jaguars. They’re in dan­ger of fall­ing three games — plus the tiebreaker — be­hind the Chiefs.

There’s a long way to go, but at this point the Chiefs, Pa­tri­ots and Jaguars are clearly the top three teams in the con­fer­ence. Th­ese early-sea­son games will mat­ter come Jan­uary. Here are five things to watch when the Pats host the Chiefs:
