WYNN PROBE WINDING DOWN
Bay State Gaming Commission expects to release findings during December
State gaming regulators expect to present their findings from a monthslong investigation into Wynn Resorts in December. The panel is digging into accusations of sexual harassment against Steve Wynn and expect to go public with it all before the end of the year, said Ed Bedrosian, the Gaming Commission executive director. “Once the report is complete, there are a few more procedural steps before an actual hearing and the report will be made public,” Bedrosian said. “I anticipate and hope we can have any pre-hearing motions, again if any, heard sometime in November, with the actual hearing happening sometime in the first two weeks of December.” Bedrosian said the report and its exhibits are likely to be hundreds of pages, and a redacted version will be released publicly. Commission investigators have been looking into the allegations against Wynn and if anyone else at the company had knowledge of the alleged harassment. Investigators have made multiple trips to Las Vegas and have hired a local employment law firm to assist with the investigation, but their work has largely been kept quiet. Since the allegations against Steve Wynn were first reported by The Wall Street Journal, Wynn resigned as CEO and Kim Sinatra, the company’s general counsel, also resigned. The company also changed the name of its Everett casino from Wynn Boston Harbor to the Encore Boston Harbor.
