Where, when to vote – and bring an umbrella
The polls open at 7 this morning and close at 8 tonight, but if you are in line before the scheduled close you are allowed to vote.
Anyone stuck outside, however, will get wet.
There’s a 90 percent chance of rain today with showers beginning in the morning and “steady rain” in the afternoon and into the evening, according to multiple forecasts. Highs will be in the 60s.
As for where to vote, the Secretary of the Commonwealth’s Voting Process page has links to polling places and how to go about filling out your ballot. It also has links to troubleshooting issues. Call 1-800-462-VOTE with any potential voting violations.
In Boston, voter details, including polling places, can be found on the city’s election page at boston.gov.
The key statewide races are for U.S. Senate, governor/lieutenant governor, secretary of state, attorney general, treasurer and auditor, plus district races for congressional and state legislative seats and Governor’s Council.
There are also ballot questions, including nurse-patient assignment limits, prohibiting discrimination based on gender identity and whether to establish a citizens commission to study corporate campaign finance rules.
There are also numerous local races and issues. Some district attorney seats are up for grabs, with key races to watch in Suffolk, Plymouth and Worcester counties.
