Cot­ton, BC sweep Ver­mont

David Cot­ton scored a pair of goals and Bos­ton Col­lege won its third con­sec­u­tive game and com­pletely a two-game sweep of Ver­mont with a 3-2 vic­tory last night at Kel­ley Rink.

Cot­ton’s sec­ond goal with 22 sec­onds left in the sec­ond pe­riod proved to be the game-win­ner for the Ea­gles (3-5-0, 3-1-0 Hockey East). Julius Mat­tila had the other goal for BC.

Vlad Dzhioshvili and Jake Massie each scored for the Cata­mounts (3-5-0, 1-4-0).

UMass-Low­ell 2, New Hamp­shire 2 — Ryan Lo­hin scored twice in a 37-sec­ond span late in the third pe­riod as the host River Hawks held off an upset bid from the Wild­cats.

De­spite fin­ish­ing with a 37-11 ad­van­tage in shots, UML (4-4-1, 1-2-1 HE) trailed 2-0 be­fore Lo­hin’s goals, the lat­ter ty­ing the game with 1:46 left in reg­u­la­tion.

Ara Nazar­ian and Mar­cus Vela scored for the Wild­cats (1-4-2, 1-1-1).

Har­vard 3, Yale 3 — Casey Dorn­bach had a goal and as­sist, but the Crim­son (0-2-2, 0-2-2 ECAC) set­tled for a tie with the Bull­dogs (2-1-1, 2-1-1) in New Haven, Conn.

Bemidji State 8, Mer­ri­mack 3— The War­riors (3-7-0) fell into a 5-0 hole af­ter one pe­riod and never re­cov­ered in a loss to the Beavers (5-1-1) in Bemidji, Minn.

Ni­a­gara 6, Holy Cross 3 — An­thony Vin­cent had a pair of as­sists for the Cru­saders (1-6-0, 1-3-0 At­lantic Hockey), who fell to the Pur­ple Ea­gles (4-5-0, 4-3-0) in Ni­a­gara, N.Y.
