Mindy Kaling is ready to head across The Pond to take on her latest project. The Cambridgeraised star is London-bound to start the real work for her limited TV series, “Four Weddings and a Funeral.” After celebrating Thanksgiving with her daughter Katherine — in matching pink Converse, no less — “The Mindy Project” alum announced her intended British invasion via social media. “Hellooo from the other siiiiide. No really, I’m headed to London,” she wrote. Kaling’s departure for overseas comes a matter of days after Deadline broke some serious news about her anthology. The adaptation of the British classic, which she’s writing and executive producing with her “Mindy Project” partner Matt Warburton, has revamped a couple of casting choices. For starters, Andie MacDowell will reportedly be appearing as a guest star in the mini-series, which is slated for a Hulu release sometime next year. The choice to include MacDowell in the project would make any diehard rom-com devotee downright giddy because the actress, along with Hugh Grant ,is the OG star from the 1994 hit flick that inspired Kaling’s upcoming show. And while she will only be playing one of the main character’s mothers this time around, her involvement is kind of like a respectful nod to the original and, in our minds at least, MacDowell’s way of giving the new project her blessing. In addition to throwing the “Four Weddings” vet into the mix, the mini-series has supposedly just re-casted its leading lady, with Nathalie Emmanuel of “Game Of Thrones” fame replacing Jessica Williams. At the same time, it has tacked on some new names to its credits, including Brandon Mychal Smith, Zoe Boyle, Jennie Jacques, Harish Patel and Guz Khan. They’ll all be joining previously announced cast members Nikesh Patel, Rebecca Rittenhouse and John Reynolds.
