Now with ring, Maria will ring it in again

-

Maria Menounos is returning to the scene of the bride, as she once again helps to ring in the New Year alongside fellow media personality Steve Harvey. The Medford native will co-host Fox’s special holiday broadcast for the second year in a row, after having staged a surprise wedding during last year’s programming.

The network just announced that Harvey and the E! News alum will be returning to lead the countdown to 2019 right in New York City’s Times Square.

Besides enjoying the banter between the cohosts, viewers better brace themselves for a full lineup of musical guests during the second annual holiday special, including performances from Florence + The Machine, Jason Aldean, Juanes, Robin Thicke and Why Don’t We, with rock sensation Sting serving as the headliner. The program will also include appearances from celebs like comedian Ken Jeong and “Saturday Night Live” cast member Kenan Thompson ,as well as Fox sportscasters Curt Menefee, Howie Long, Jimmy Johnson, Michael Strahan and Terry Bradshaw, who are all known for their work on “NFL Sunday.” Other stars who might show up throughout the night are still TBA.

As fans may recall, last year’s live NYE broadcast was monumental for Menounos. She and her longtime fiance, Keven Undergaro, caught all of America off guard when they announced they’d be saying “I do” on television in an impromptu ceremony officiated by Harvey. The couple later followed up on their frigid, New Year’s Eve nuptials with a lavish — and far warmer — wedding in her parents’ native country of Greece in October.

If you want to step into the coming year with Menounos on your TV screen, you can catch her and Harvey on “Fox’s New Year’s Eve” starting at 8 p.m. on Dec. 31, until the ball drops for Jan. 1.
