John Patrick Monahan of Dracut, auto body mechanic, at 60

John Patrick Monahan of Dracut died Wednesday, Jan. 9. Hewas60. He was born and raised in Chelsea. He was a graduate of Northeast Metropolit­an Regional Vocational High School in Wakefield. Mr. Monahan moved to Tewksbury to raise his family in 1986. He moved to Dracut in 2004 after the loss of his wife. He worked as an auto body mechanic for Fred M, Susan Auto Body in Somerville for 42 years. He was a well-known and regularly liked “weekend regular” at Joker’s Lounge in Dracut. Husband of the late Deborah Jean (Bowser) for 24 years, Mr. Monahan is survived by a son, Kevin P. of Pelham, N.H.; a daughter, Megan M. of North Attleboro; two brothers, Martin Jr. of Chelsea and Paul of Lowell; a sister, Florence Iacona of Amesbury; three grandchild­ren and many nieces and nephews. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 15, at St. William’s Church, Tewksbury. Burial will be in Tewksbury Cemetery. Arrangemen­ts by Tewksbury Funeral Home.
