No. 1 Duke survives

Reddish drains 3 to stun Florida St.

Cam Reddish hit a 3-pointer with 0.8 seconds left to lead No. 1 Duke past No. 13 Florida State, 80-78, yesterday in Tallahasse­e, Fla. Reddish caught the ball on the wing off the inbounds pass and made a wide open 3-pointer to ensure Duke (14-1, 3-0 ACC) would win its ninth straight game. He finished with 23 points on 9-of-15 shooting.

Duke played the second half without star freshman Zion Williamson, who left after getting poked in the eye late in the first half. He didn’t return to the game and finished with 11 points and eight rebounds in 17 minutes. Louisville 83, North Carolina 62 — Roy Williams suffered his worst home loss in 16 seasons as the Cardinals (11-5, 2-1 ACC) stunned the No.12 Tar Heels (12-4, 2-1) in Chapel Hill, N.C. Connecticu­t transfer Steven Enoch had season highs of 17 points and 11 rebounds to lead the Cardinals. Virginia 63, Clemson 43 — In Clemson, S.C., Kyle Guy had 13 points, De’Andre Hunter scored 12 and the No. 4 Cavaliers improved to 15-0 (3-0 ACC) by routing the Tigers (10-6, 0-3). Kansas 73, Baylor 68 — In Waco, Texas, Lagerald Vick scored 18 points with six 3-pointers on his 22nd birthday and the No. 7 Jayhawks (14-2, 3-1 Big 12) held on to beat the Bears (9-6, 1-2). Texas Tech 68, Texas 62 — Matt Mooney scored 22 points to lead the No. 8 Red Raiders (15-1, 4-0 Big 12) past the Longhorns (10-6, 2-2) for their first win in Austin since 1996. Auburn 93, Georgia 78 — Jared Harper had 22 points and seven assists while he and the No. 11 Tigers (12-3, 1-1 SEC) rebounded from a rough night to beat the Bulldogs (9-6, 1-2) at home. Mississipp­i 81, Mississipp­i State 77 — In Starkville, Miss., Blake Hinson scored a career-high 26 points, Breein Tyree added 19 and the Rebels (13-2, 3-0 SEC) rallied past the No. 14 Bulldogs (12-3, 0-2). North Carolina St. 86, Pittsburgh 80 — In Raleigh, N.C., DJ Funderburk scored 12 of his 18 points in the second half and the No. 15 Wolfpack (14-2, 2-1 ACC) beat the Panthers (11-5, 1-2). Iowa 72, Ohio State 62 — In Iowa City, Iowa, Luka Garza scored 16 points, Tyler Cook had 15 points with eight rebounds and the Hawkeyes (14-3, 3-3 Big Ten) handed the No. 16 Buckeyes (12-4, 2-3) their third straight loss. Buffalo 88, Miami (Ohio) 64 — In Amherst, N.Y., Jeremy Harris scored 17 points and the No. 19 Bulls (15-1, 3-0 MAC) shook off a coldshooti­ng start to cruise past the RedHawks (8-8, 0-3). Kansas State 58, Iowa State 57 — Barry Brown hit a layup with four seconds left and the Wildcats (12-4, 2-2 Big 12) stunned the No. 20 Cyclones (12-4, 2-2) in Ames, Iowa. Marquette 70, Seton Hall 66 — Markus Howard scored 26 points, Sacar Anim had 14 and the No. 21 Golden Eagles (14-3, 3-1 Big East) staved off a second-half rally to beat the Pirates (12-5, 3-2) in Milwaukee. Oklahoma 76, TCU 74 — In Norman, Okla., Kristian Doolittle hit a runner with less than three seconds left, lifting the No. 23 Sooners (13-3, 2-2 Big 12) past the Horned Frogs (12-3, 1-2). In New England games: Notre Dame 69, Boston College 66 — Prentiss Hubb, a late starter when T.J. Gibbs was scratched with a pregame illness, hit a pair of free throws with 2.6 seconds and the shorthande­d Irish (11-5, 1-2 ACC) beat the Eagles (9-6, 0-3) in South Bend, Ind. Ky Bowman had 24 points and 16 rebounds for BC. Northeaste­rn 90, William and Mary 70 — Shawn Occeus scored 21 points and the Huskies (9-8, 3-2 Colonial) wrapped up their three-game road trip by beating the Tribe (7-11, 3-3) in Williamsbu­rg, Va. Dartmouth 81, Harvard 63 — Chris Knight scored 20 points on 8-of-10 shooting from the field and the hotshootin­g Big Green (10-7) crushed the Crimson (6-7) in the Ivy League opener for both teams in Hanover, N.H. Christian Juzang scored 20 points on 8-of-11 shooting, and Chris Lewis added 12 for Harvard (6-7).
