Man dead after stab at party

Fall River po­lice want the pub­lic’s help in find­ing a man they say fa­tally stabbed a man at a party on Satur­day.

Fall River po­lice say Adam Con­ners, a 29-year-old who lives in Fall River and has ties to Hal­i­fax, stabbed a man at a party who later died from his in­juries.

Po­lice say Con­ners stabbed 39-year-old Joseph Read­ing, also of Fall River, mul­ti­ple times at about 11:30 p.m. at a get-to­gether on Hall Street in the city.

Read­ing drove away from the party but crashed nearby — and had passed out and was un­re­spon­sive be­cause of his wounds when the cops showed up, en route to the crash.

Read­ing was taken to a lo­cal hos­pi­tal and pro­nounced dead, ac­cord­ing to po­lice.

Po­lice have a war­rant for Con­ners’ ar­rest on a charge of as­sault and bat­tery with a dan­ger­ous weapon caus­ing se­ri­ous in­jury.
