QUARTERBACK

-

Tom Brady got the ball in the fourth quarter with the game tied, 3-3.

You knew what was happening.

Brady made the right reads on four straight throws, dissecting the Rams defense for 67 quick yards. On the fourth pass, Brady realized he had Rob Gronkowski matched up with Rams linebacker Cory Littleton, who struggled all year to cover tight ends down the field.

Brady targeted Littleton without hesitation, floating a deep ball into Gronkowski’s arms for a 29-yard gain to the Los Angeles 2-yard line.

It wasn’t a perfect night for Brady.

He was intercepted on his first throw. He was nearly picked on a seam ball that was thrown slightly behind Chris Hogan. And he held the ball too long on a strip-sack near the end of the first quarter (center David Andrews pounced on it).
