Kids bring out the best in us

-

Last week, the Herald’s Jessica Heslam reported about a group of youngsters who took a special trip to the New England Aquarium. They were courageous children who had suffered severe burns and were getting treatment at Shriners Hospitals for Children – Boston.

Herald photographer Angela Rowlings captured the moments when the kids kissed Atlantic Harbor seals and reached out to swimming sea rays.

The young burn survivors were at the Hub aquarium as part of Team Brave, a Shriners program funded by the Boston Firefighters Burn Foundation, which helps kids build up their self-esteem and feel comfortable out in public.

Bravo to everybody involved. Giving these beautiful children such a wonderful reprieve from their challenges is the work of angels.
